Nearly 7,000 pounds of ground beef recalled due to E.coli concerns
A western Illinois meat processor is recalling nearly 7,000 pounds of raw ground beef sent to institutions and restaurants in Iowa and Illinois.

Valley Meats, of Coal Valley, Ill., is recalling approximately 6,768 pounds of the beef because of possible E. coli contamination, according to a press release issued by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

The beef was shipped to distributor locations in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, and Michigan for further distribution to restaurants and other institutional users.
